Dining at Mar’aa: A Mediterranean Delight in the Heart of Yorkville
Whether you’re visiting Toronto or a local looking to discover a new dining spot, this restaurant offers one of the most stunning views of the city skyline!
We had a wonderful dinner at Mar’aa in Yorkville, formerly Antonio Park, and it was such a lovely evening all around.
The menu is thoughtful and inclusive. I tend to lean pescatarian and our guest was vegetarian, and we both had no trouble finding delicious, satisfying dishes. From lentil salads to beautifully grilled fish and spice-kissed vegetables, everything was full of flavour and presented with elegance. If you’re looking for massive portions this may not be your place, but if you’re after well-balanced dishes and thoughtful Mediterranean combinations, it’s a hit. And the prices? Reasonable and in line with most upscale spots in the city.
One standout we forgot to photograph (and we’re still kicking ourselves for it!) was the carrot dish. It was fantastic, layered with some of my favourite spices like cardamom and cumin, with a touch of coffee extract that gave it a warm, earthy complexity. Highly recommend it.
We opted for the Bordeaux and Chianti by the glass, both were great but the Chianti was my favourite! Our server was incredibly friendly, smiling the whole time, and genuinely seemed happy to be there, which made the experience even better.
We sat outside on the balcony with a picture-perfect view of the CN Tower, one of those classic Toronto moments we totally enjoyed but forgot to capture in a photo (clearly we were too focused on the food!).
As the evening cooled off, shawls and blankets were handed out to everyone seated outdoors, a thoughtful touch that made it feel extra cozy.
For those who dined at Antonio Park in the past, you’ll notice the space still maintains its chic, minimal beauty, but the menu at Mar’aa is far more approachable, creative, and fairly priced.
Highly recommend for date night, dinner with friends, or an elegant yet cozy evening out. Mar’aa hits all the right notes. ✨
