Did you know this about Forest Hill?

First known as Spadina Heights, the name was changed when the village was incorporated in 1923 and renamed Forest Hill after the summer home of John Wickson built in 1860.

Forest Hill is divided into Upper and Lower Forest Hill. Upper Forest Hill encompasses the area between Briar Hill running south to Eglinton from Marlee to Latimer. Lower Forest Hill encompasses the area between Eglinton running south to St. Clair from Avenue Road to Bathurst.  This area is also referred to as The Lower Village.

Cheryl and Samantha know it extremely well and therefore understand why you are interested in this area. Streets are lined with mature trees and large lots. Many of the original homes were 3 storey homes. Over the years, some have chosen to maintain their original facade of charm and character and renovated the interior to reflect their new style of modern art.  However, many have also knocked down and built new homes with facades to match their interior design.  Condominiums are also offered in the area primarily along Heath Street West, St. Clair West and Avenue Road.

Dining in Forest Hill?

Forest Hill Village located on Spadina Avenue between Coulson Avenue and Heath Street West offers a variety of small restaurant options such as Mashu Mashu, Edo, Sofra and of course Starbucks! Forest Hill residents can easily access restaurants in Yorkville, along Dupont or Davenport, Yonge and St.Clair and Eglinton West.

How are the schools in Forest Hill?

Feel free to ask Cheryl and Samantha about the local schools.  There are several schools, public, secondary and private, in the area, including Forest Hill Junior and Senior school and High School Collegiate for Lower Village and West Prep and North Prep for Upper Village as well as the Forest Hill High School Collegiate. Private schools include Bishop Strachan and Upper Canada College. Popular but not in Forest Hill are Branksome Hall, Greenwood, Havergal and York school.
