Is It Time to Walk Away?

Is It Time to Walk Away?

Is It Time to Walk Away?

Sometimes, no matter how much data you share or how clearly you communicate, a seller simply won’t budge on their price.

So what do you do when a client is stuck and believes your honest advice means you don’t value their property?

✅ Listen first. Understand the “why” behind their number: emotion, effort, or pride often play a big role.

✅ Educate, don’t pressure. Share market facts, comparables, and days-on-market data to guide, not push.

✅ Show the reality of waiting. Sometimes, holding out for that dream price can cost more in time, stress, and missed opportunities.

But here’s the hardest question to ask yourself:
👉 Is it time to walk away?

If your client feels you don’t believe in their property, despite your honesty and effort, it may be best to part ways gracefully.
Stay true to your values, leave on good terms, and if possible, refer another agent who might be a better fit.

Because in real estate, walking away with integrity is sometimes the smartest move you can make.

Experience is knowing when to stand firm, and when to step back. I’m Cheryl Graff from The Graff Group Toronto, tune in next week for another Wise Wednesday!
