Le Duc Restaurant Review and Birthday Celebration

✨ Celebrating Steve’s Birthday in Paris 🎉

This was our very first visit to Le Duc in Paris @leducparis — and what a truly memorable evening it was.

This year, I wanted to celebrate Steve’s birthday twice: once in Nice on his actual birthday, and once again in Paris during our stay. Who are we kidding the whole two weeks were celebrating life together and of course my husband. After hearing glowing recommendations (thank you Josh Josephson !), we chose Le Duc for our Paris celebration—and we are so glad we did.

From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed. The ambiance is classic and elegant, with a subtle nautical charm and a warm, intimate atmosphere—perfect for a special occasion.

The menu highlights some of the finest seafood in Paris, prepared with incredible attention to detail. We began with the house fish carpaccio—so delicate and fresh. The sole with peas was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the monkfish with zucchini and mushrooms was equally beautiful. Funny adjective to use, since monk fish is probably one of the ugliest fish you will ever see but … so flavourful!

Every side dish complemented the mains perfectly—crisp haricots verts and tender white asparagus, both simply and elegantly prepared to showcase their natural flavours.

In keeping with our goal of celebrating well and healthfully, we made a special request for a lighter dessert. The kitchen graciously created a beautiful apple and date dessert just for us—light, delicious, and the perfect ending to the meal. It was paired wonderfully with a bottle of La Seigneurie d’Olivier red wine, which elevated the evening even further.

To make the night extra special, we had the opportunity to meet the gracious owner and share a photo outside the iconic Le Duc facade—an experience we’ll treasure.

This was our first visit, but most certainly not our last. If you love fine seafood, beautiful wines, warm hospitality, and an elegant Parisian dining experience, Le Duc is an absolute must.
