When separating, don’t overlook the mortgage!
If your ex is staying in the matrimonial home and you’re making the payments, your agreement must state when and how your name comes off the mortgage.
Otherwise you could end up stuck… unable to qualify for your next property, exposed if payments aren’t made, and tied to debt that’s no longer yours.
