Rasa, nestled in the heart of Harbord Village, is one of my go-to spots in Toronto, and for good reason. This restaurant stands out for its eclectic and inventive dishes, unlike anything else in the city. One of my absolute favourite offerings is their ceviche, which they serve in a chili oil and peanut sauce that has just the right amount of bite—completely unique! And of course, there’s the famous Rasa salad, which has earned almost as much recognition in Toronto as the iconic Jennifer Aniston salad.
To add to their growing reputation, Rasa recently received the prestigious Michelin Bib Gourmand, which is a testament to the exceptional quality of their food at a great value. This accolade truly solidifies what I’ve known for years—Rasa is a standout in Toronto’s dining scene.
But what truly elevates the Rasa experience beyond the delicious food is the staff. Clare, Alex, Kiera, Sasha and Ellie are the heart and soul of this place. Their kindness, generosity, and attention to detail make every visit feel like you’re stepping into a home away from home. It’s clear that they take ownership of their roles, making sure every guest is catered to, as if it’s their own business. It’s the kind of place where your preferences are remembered, and every experience is curated to perfection—whether it’s a Fab Ladies’ Night or a cozy date with Steve.
Wine lovers, take note: the team here is exceptional at guiding you through their selection. I still remember my first memorable interaction with Clare over a bottle of wine I didn’t love (for those who know me, you know I don’t hide that easily!). Clare insisted on finding something better suited to my taste, and she did so with such warmth and care. Compare that to a recent experience elsewhere where I was served a $100 bottle with a “what did you expect?” attitude, and the difference is night and day.
Rasa has become a staple for me, whether it’s for an intimate dinner with friends or a lively night out. If you haven’t been, you’re missing out! And of course, don’t hesitate to drop my name—I promise you’ll be in great hands.
